A versatile attorney with a strong understanding of client issues, Frederick “Rick” supports Gallagher’s Affordable Housing, Private Equity and Real Estate and Business Transactions Practice Groups. He collaborates with clients such as a transportation-focused global investment manager, entities focused on affordable housing, and CRE organizations to perform contract review and closing work, assist in the negotiation of purchase and sale agreements, conduct title and survey research, and assist with general corporate compliance.
Rick earned his JD from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law in 2024, where he attended evening classes while working full-time as a paralegal in Gallagher’s Real Estate Practice Group. This dual experience as a nontraditional student equipped him with unique insights that inform his client relationships and approach to legal challenges.
At Gallagher, Rick is a member of the Immigration Committee, a subcommittee of our Pro Bono & Community Service Committee that is committed to providing pro bono service to individuals seeking asylum.
Prior to joining Gallagher, Rick garnered experience in idea generation, problem solving and follow-through in his role building and developing a range of arts spaces.
Rick graduated from James Madison University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Political Science.
Beyond Gallagher
Rick enjoys returning to his hometown of Virginia Beach with his wife, Susan, and their two sons to enjoy the surf and sun. He is also a cooking enthusiast, and, now that he has completed law school, hopes to find time to return to his drum set
