Baltimore, MD (July 1, 2024) – Gallagher Evelius & Jones and Bozzuto are pleased to announce that Kirsten Andrews Woelper, a longtime Gallagher real estate attorney and head of the firm’s Business Transactions Practice will join Bozzuto as their new General Counsel effective July 1.

Gallagher has served as one of Bozzuto’s principal lawyers since the company’s founding in 1988, and Kirsten and many of the firm’s attorneys have been integral to supporting Bozzuto’s growth and success. Today, Bozzuto—comprising four companies covering real estate development, construction, insurance and property management—employs more than 3,400 people, and manages 110,000 apartments and three million square feet of retail space.

Kirsten joined Gallagher as an associate in 1998. She was named partner in 2007 and became the head of the Business Transactions Practice in 2023. Over the span of more than 25 years, she has developed valuable and lasting relationships with clients who rely on her legal knowledge, professionalism, and adeptness for risk mitigation and problem-solving.

“We and our clients are better because of Kirsten,” said Tom Dame, managing partner of Gallagher Evelius & Jones. “For more than 25 years, she has committed herself to the firm and to her clients, and is a model of excellent lawyering, strong leadership, generous service and loyal friendship. I know Bozzuto will be well served by Kirsten, and we look forward to continuing our relationship with Kirsten in her new role as General Counsel of Bozzuto.”

Bozzuto CEO and President Toby Bozzuto noted the establishment of an in-house general counsel role was essential to support Bozzuto’s multi-state expansion and nationwide growth.

“I have had the privilege of working with Kirsten for many years and can attest to the tremendous asset she has been to our team,” Toby said. “Kirsten has been a trusted adviser and thought partner and is well-known by Bozzuto leadership for her deep understanding of the real estate industry.”

During her tenure at Gallagher, Kirsten has masterfully guided a diverse group of clients through many business transactions, big and small. She was recognized for her real estate work by the global attorney ranking service, Chambers USA, from 2020-2024. She serves as the board chair for the Jefferson Scholars Foundation, Maryland Regional Selection Committee, and she serves on the Board of Trustees for the Saint Paul’s Schools.

Kirsten earned her J.D. from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law and her bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia. She and her husband, Chip, have three sons and reside in Baltimore.
