Gallagher Evelius & Jones is pleased to announce that three lawyers, Sangeetha Kannan, Brandon Wharton, and Victoria “Tory” Trocchia, have joined the firm as associates.
Sangeetha earned her JD from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, graduating cum laude in 2022. While in law school, Sangeetha was captain of the National Trial Team, Executive Articles Editor for the Journal of Health Care Law & Policy, and president of the Asian Pacific American Law Student Association (APALSA). Her leadership instincts and communication skills will play a pivotal role in helping clients in Gallagher’s Litigation Group navigate complex legal challenges.
Brandon made history at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law as the first Black editor-in-chief of the Maryland Law Review. He graduated magna cum laude in 2021 and was honored with The Roger Howell Achievement Award for contributing significantly to the student activities program and demonstrating the leadership, scholarship, and moral character representative of the high ideals of the legal profession. He demonstrates a sense of calm as he helps clients in Gallagher’s Education, Employment, Litigation, and Investigations Groups navigate complex and sensitive legal matters.
Tory brings a unique combination of finance and law to Gallagher’s Litigation Practice, having spent five years at a Baltimore investment firm prior to graduating magna cum laude, Order of the Coif, from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law in 2022. In law school, Tory sharpened her trial skills as a member of Maryland Carey Law’s National Trial Team and she honed her appellate brief-writing and research skills as a student attorney in the Juvenile Lifer Advocacy Clinic.
“We are very pleased these talented lawyers, all of whom spent time at the firm as summer associates, have chosen to join the Gallagher team,” said Tom Dame, managing partner. “We have come to know Tory, Brandon, and Sangeetha over the last several years, and we watched with pride as they took on leadership roles and participated in clerkships. We appreciate the diverse skills each of them brings to Gallagher, and we look forward to serving our clients with them over the course of their legal careers.”
