Gallagher is proud to announce that Partner Paul Caiola has been named the Maryland State Bar Association’s (MSBA) Litigation Law Section Litigator of the Year. This prestigious recognition highlights Mr. Caiola’s exceptional contributions to the legal profession and his outstanding work as a litigator.
The award will be presented at the Litigation Law Section Annual Awards Dinner on April 10, 2025, at Blackwall Barn & Lodge in Columbia, Maryland.

This award adds to Mr. Caiola’s impressive list of accolades, which includes recognition in Best Lawyers in America, Maryland Super Lawyers since 2011, and the Chambers USA Guide for Litigation. In 2017, he received the “Leadership in Law” award from The Daily Record.
Beyond his professional practice, Mr. Caiola demonstrates a deep commitment to civic service. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Maryland Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, for which he will serve as President beginning in July 2025, and is a member of the Board of Visitors for the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law. He is a former Board President of the Public Justice Center. Prior to entering law school, he served in the United States Peace Corps, teaching mathematics and English to students in Malawi, Africa.
